This is a non-binding English summary of our German Datenschutzerklärung, which is the legally authoritative version under GDPR.

2. Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare automatically processes technical data sent by your browser:

• IP address (typically anonymised / shortened by Cloudflare)
• Date and time of the request
• Requested URL and transfer size
• Referrer URL
• Browser type and operating system

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a stable, secure site (including DDoS protection and bot detection). A data processing agreement with Cloudflare incl. EU standard contractual clauses is in place.

3. Cookies, local storage and the cookie banner

This site uses no tracking, analytics or marketing cookies. No web analytics (such as Google Analytics or Matomo), no pixels and no social plugins are loaded.

On your first visit a cookie and tracking banner is shown where you can decide per category what you allow (strictly necessary, statistics, external media, marketing). Your choice is stored locally in your browser under the local-storage key ericspricht_consent_v1. You can change or fully reset it at any time via „Cookie preferences" in the footer.

Browser local storage additionally remembers your theme preference (light/dark) and the consent record above. This data does not leave your browser.

Marker.io (preview domain only): on the internal preview URL *.pages.dev, the bug-reporting widget by Marker.io BV (Belgium) may be loaded after explicit consent (category „External media"). On the live domain ericspricht.de it is never loaded.

Legal basis for technically necessary storage: § 25 (2) no. 2 TTDSG. For all other categories: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 (1) TTDSG (consent).

4. Fonts and external resources

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Your IP address is transferred to Google in the process. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in consistent typography. See policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Audio and video playback (Cloudflare R2)

Audio samples and showreel videos are delivered via Cloudflare R2 (object storage). The same notes apply as in section 2 (hosting). No additional tracking takes place.

6. Contact

If you contact me via the contact form or by email, the data you provide (name, email, message) is processed to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR. Your enquiry will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed and after any statutory retention periods have lapsed.

7. CMS backend (editors only)

The CMS at /admin/ is reserved for authorised editors. Authentication is handled via GitHub OAuth through a dedicated Cloudflare Worker. External provider: GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P Kelly Jr St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Purpose: authentication and authorisation for CMS write access. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR. 8. Recipients and international transfers

Recipients of personal data are the providers listed in sections 2, 4, 5 and 7 (Cloudflare, Google Fonts, GitHub). Transfers to the United States are based on EU standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

9. Retention

Cloudflare server logs are deleted automatically per Cloudflare's retention policy. Email/contact-form enquiries are deleted as soon as they are no longer required.

10. Your rights

You have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21) under GDPR. Please direct requests to [email protected].
